Arizona Comfort Specialists Heating and Cooling

Protect Your Investment with Routine Maintenance

You put a lot of money into your home air conditioning system unit and pay the utility company every month for the luxury of cool air. Arizona homeowners understand the value of comfort and staying cool in our sizzling climate. However, it may be difficult to be sure your air conditioning is performing properly, and whether or not an emergency is on the horizon.

As your system operates day-after-day, dust and dirt build-up in crucial areas that affect its efficiency, like the condensing coils and air filters. Because of this accumulation, your A/C system can lose a significant amount of its operating efficiency each year, if left unchecked. This causes efficiency to diminish over time, not allowing your house to stay cool like it could if it were clean.

Postponing maintenance can sometimes cause more damage to parts and equipment. Even if you do not suspect any problems with your air conditioning unit, all heating and cooling experts agree, it is a good idea to have it inspected, serviced, and cleaned at least twice a year, ideally in the spring -- before the heat arrives, and in the fall. A proactive inspection ensures your house stays cool and that you are comfortable during the months you need it most.

Specialists can complete a routine inspection on the things you do not see or have access to before it’s too late. When the temperature rises, technicians become overwhelmed with a lot of calls, which could leave you sweating it out longer than necessary. Often, these issues are preventable with an inspection. [company_name] offers priority service for those that sign up for a maintenance package if a problem does occur. A qualified technician can find small issues before they grow into larger, more expensive problems. These inspections often pay for themselves with improved efficiency, lower utility bills, and a longer-lasting unit, as opposed to replacing your air conditioner, which adds up to several thousand dollars.

A routine inspection can prevent harm to your unit and ensure it operates at peak energy efficiency. You will keep your energy bill from getting out of control, and protect the investment on your comfort, as well as prolonging the life of your unit overall.

Save Money on Your Energy Bill This Summer!

Call for a Tune-Up

We recommend that you have your equipment serviced every year (Especially prior to summer). Preventative maintenance saves you money by catching an ‘issue’ before it’s a ‘problem’, and it will help prolong the life of your system.

Often during routine service, technicians can discover parts that are going bad. Some of these things include:
  • Check MFD on run capacitors
  • Inspect Fan motor bearings
  • Control wiring is intact
  • Electrical connections are tight
  • All wire nuts are tight, etc.
Adjust that dial to save some money

Remember that for each degree you dial below 78 degrees, your energy consumption increases by about 8 percent. For example, if your monthly electric bill is about $100, you’ll save $8 a month with each degree you can stand above 78.

Invest in a programmable thermostat

Programmable thermostats allow you to control your HVAC units even when you are not there. You can pre-program your settings so that the thermostat raises the temperature while you're at work, and kicks on the air conditioning just before you arrive home. With smart programmable thermostats, you can even control the temperature from your smartphone. Depending on the application, these thermostats can save you hundreds of dollars on your electric bill every year.

Change your Filter

Changing your dirty filter every month not only makes your system run more efficiently but can also lower your air conditioner's energy consumption by up to 15 percent. Remember, when your filter gets clogged, your system must work harder to continue to provide the same amount of cold air.

Fans

If your home has ceiling fans, switch your ceiling fan to run counterclockwise in the summer. That will push the cool air down. You can run a ceiling fan half the day for about $1.50 a month, compared to $25 a month for an air conditioner.

Keep your A/C Clean

If you have a Condensing Unit on the side of your house, keep the components clean. Especially outdoor condenser/compressor units. Remove dirt and debris, cut back vegetation at least two feet on all sides, and when the unit is turned off, hose down the coil and compressor.
